Idea: All In on Wall Street

Written By: William F. B. O'Reilly - Oct• 06•11

Gay rights activists have now joined the Occupy Wall Street fray, casting their lot with disgruntled college students; Socialist Party members; neo-Marxists; Michael Moore; the so-called Working Families Party; a half dozen public employee unions; Susan Sarandon; former ACORN troublemakers; bewildered homeless people; candidates for public office; and groups with made up names like Strong Economy for All.  There must be 50 of those. Every day another half dozen groups jump in trying to subvert the protean freak show with a message of their own.

I have an idea.  How about Mayor Bloomberg calls a city holiday and we ALL head downtown one morning.  We can howl at the moon about our individual woes for an hour or so — and then get our asses back to work.

Any takers?

You know what Bill, I think for the first time since this blog about the Wall Street Takeover has been up…I agree with you. It’s not the fact that they are marching on Wall Street that bothers me. I think that’s a good thing. What bothers me is this…”What are they protesting?”. When you look at the pictures, it has become a hodge-podge of issues that really take away from the intensity of the situation. They should have areas of the protest site set up for each issue. Listen, if you go down to Wall Street because you believe the banks are evil and you want them to understand your frustration with them, that’s fine, but what the hell do they have to do with NG Fracking or Gay Rights or the Wars or anything other than the banking system.

To me…it just seems as if they have all got to grow up and understand that issues are always going to be a part of our lives as long as we elect those who cave to the lobbiests. Now that’s a good issue…protest the lobbiests…LOL.

    Bill:

I am glad all of these disparate groups are protesting in one place. It makes it easier for the police to watch them.
