  1. Art Shifrin says:

The photograph is of Thomas Brackett Reed. He was born on October 18, 1839. He died on December 7, 1902. Reed was a U.S. Representative from Maine. Later, he was Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1889 to 1891 and from 1895 to 1899. His accomplishments as House Leader set the precedent for the power of the office
which previously had been much less significant before his tenure.

Henry Clay was born in 1777 and died in 1852. He was a Senator and Representative of the State Of Kentucky. He served three terms as Speaker of the House and was Secretary of State from 1825 to 1829 under President John Quincy Adams. His will provided for freeing of his slaves.

IF this attribution were correctly attributed to Reed, then he could not have been more than 13 years old when he allegedly said it.

Check what you think or hope are facts before relaying and especially, publishing them.

  2. Very descriptive blog, I loved that a lot. Will there
    be a part 2?

  3. I’m gone to tell my little brother, that he should also pay a quick visit this weblog on regular basis to take updated from hottest reports.
