A report in today’s Toronto Star says John Lennon was a closet Republican, according to his former personal assistant. I’m not sure I buy it, but it’s sure to arouse some passions among the Strawberry Fields crowd. Something tells me Paul will soon be chiming in.

I guess after he had kids he decided it was time to grow up. Pretty annoying hypocrite before that though. From a forwarded email I received recently: “If John Lennon really found it so easy to “imagine no possessions,” how come he had to record his song “Imagine” on a white grand piano in a vast stucco-fronted Georgian mansion on a 72-acre estate in one of the most expensive counties in Britain? Tell your liberal friend you much prefer integrity in your music.” True dat…
