I have to admit I’ve been coming around on this issue. Sad to say. But these things need to be done in a measured way. Wisconsin went about it all wrong. If the public senses draconian measures getting rolled out, they will rise up against it. But I stand firm on minimum wage. It’s an embarrassment. So, in exchange for concessions on public pensions, would you consider a lock step program to double minimum wage over the next decade? Public pensions should be converted to 401(k) plans over a similar period of time, with people over a certain age grandfathered into the existing program. Social Security is not on the table. Deal?

    • 100% on 401k. I’m fine on the minimum wage, as long as it doesn’t cost jobs. Small businesses get really hurt on it, and more jobs go on the black market, under the minimum. Also, always has to be federal. If New York is $10 and New Jersey and PA are $7, it would kill us.
